US sees almost 40,000 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hour
The United States recorded 39,379 new coronavirus cases in a day, a tally by Johns Hopkins University showed on Sunday (Mon in Malaysia), as infections continue steadily to trend up around the united states.
The country's final number of cases now stands at 2,876,143 .
The world's largest economy also recorded an additional 234 fatalities, bringing the death toll to 129,891, the Baltimore-based institution's tracker showed at 8.30pm (0030 GMT Monday).
Sunday may be the fourth consecutive day time of surging amounts of new attacks, including a higher of 57,683 on Friday.
The lower number could possibly be attributed to much less reporting on the July 4th national holiday weekend.
