US top courtroom strikes down legislation limiting abortions
The US Supreme Courtroom has ruled 5-4 that a law restricting abortions in Louisiana is unconstitutional in a landmark decision.
The law needed that doctors providing abortions to have admitting privileges to hospitals, which the justices ruled resulted in an undue burden on women.
Chief Justice John Roberts joined up with liberal justices found in the 5-4 decision in a blow to pro-abortion groupings.
The court struck straight down a similar policy in Texas in 2016, the opinion noted.
