Uber services available these days in tourist destination Cox's Bazar
Uber on February 11 launched its functions in the tourist destination Cox's Bazar, making it the fourth city in Bangladesh after Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
Riders can now book UberXL and MOTO services by downloading the Uber software for affordable, reliable and convenient transportation. The launch offers livelihood opportunities to drivers.
Ratul Ghosh, Head of Bangladesh and East India, Uber said, "We are delighted to announce our foray in Cox's Bazar, the heart of tourism in Bangladesh. With this launch, both residents and tourists will have a reliable and economical travel solution to experience the city fully with UberMoto and UberXL till Innani and Ramu.”
He further mentioned that tourists make up for a significant part of Uber’s riders. “In 2019, riders from 76 countries had used Uber while visiting Bangladesh. We are excited to donate to the potential of the new city and optimistic that citizens and tourists gives us a warm welcome."
Uber has launched several safety products so that before, during, and after trips, riders feel safe. There is an emergency number that connects riders to law enforcement, an in-app safety toolkit, and updated Community Guidelines, which outline the behavior expected of riders and drivers on the app to foster mutual respect.
To make sure seamless post-trip assistance, Uber has committed to a 24/7 safety response team and a dedicated police response team for assisting police with any information they could need.
