Two probe bodies formed over clash at S Alam Group’s power plant in Ctg
Chittagong district administration and police have formed two separate probe bodies to investigate the clash at a coal-based power plant at Banshkhali in the district  that left five personnel dead.

The clash happened when the angry personnel started demonstrating over their due salaries and allowances at the plant at Baraghona in Gondamara union beneath the upazila in the morning.

S.A. Alam Group, one of the biggest industrial conglomerates of the united states, is building the energy plant at Gondamara area.

After a gathering of the Chittagong district administration at the spot in the afternoon, a four-member probe body was formed and asked your body to submit report within a week. Besides, the district administration announced to supply Tk 3 lakh each to the family of the deceased and Tk 50,000 to the injured.

Meanwhile, Chittagong Range DIG Anwar Hossain said police in addition has formed a three-member probe committee and directed to submit the report within seven days.

Inspector (Investigation) Azizul Islam of Banshkhali Police Station, said there is a strong disagreement between your management of the power plant and employees over the due salaries and allowances. Workers started demonstrating from the morning. When police intercepted, the personnel allegedly launched an attack on police throwing brick-bats. Four policemen were injured in the attack. Just at that time, a violent clash broke out and four people were killed in police firing.

The deceased were discovered as Ahmed Reza, Rony Hossain, Shuvho and Md Rahat.

According to sources because the first week of the month, there has been a lot of anger among the personnel because of not reducing working hours by one hour during the month of Ramadan, giving no break time for prayers and non-fulfillment of demands for wages at the proper time. The outrage was made public on Friday. Protests and clashes erupted today when the controlling Chinese authorities did not comply with their demands.
