Two ‘drug smugglers’ killed in 'gunfight'
Two suspected drug smugglers were killed in a reported gunfight with the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar district on Friday night.  

Identity of the deceased could not be known yet, said BGB-2 commanding officer Lt Col Faisal Hasan Khan.

On information that a big consignment of Yaba tablets is coming into Bangladesh from Myanmar, a BGB team conducted drive along Damdamia Omar canal under Hrila union around 10:00 pm.

Two Yaba tablet smugglers caught in line in the fire and died, said the BGB official.

About 5.40 lakh pieces of Yaba pills were recovered from the scene, the BGB official added.

Further details will be informed at a press briefing at BGB-2 headquarter at 10:00am, BGB said.
