Trauma Centre hospital closed straight down for COVID-19 test irregularities
In the wake of widespread corruption and irregularities over coronavirus tests and treatment, the government has ordered shutting down just one more private hospital in Dhaka.
The Directorate Basic of Health Offerings (DGHS) on Wednesday ordered closing down Trauma Middle, an orthopaedic medical center at Shyamoli in Dhaka.
Before, the DGHS gave it permission for the tests and treatment of COVID-19 patients.
The Trauma Middle is owned by former Overall health Minister Professor Dr AFM Ruhal Haque.
The DGHS officials said the Trauma Middle does not have any licence and it had been found that time expired medical equipment were staying used there.
In a letter, signed by Dr Aminul Hasan, Director (Hospitals and Clinics) of the DGHS, ordered to turn off the Trauma Centre.
It was stated in the letter that various varieties of irregularities were detected through the visit of a healthcare facility on July 18. In those days, the hospital officials could not show any licence.
The letter mentioned that the Trauma Centre didn't hang the purchase price list in open places regardless of the High Court order.
Besides, insufficient necessary manpower was also observed in accordance with the amount of beds. Though surgeons conduct operations, they will be assisted by ward boys and non-medical personnel in the Procedure Theatre. The environment inside medical center is certainly unhealthy and unhygeinic. Oxygen was placed very dangerously, which might cause accident any moment.
During the go to, the ICU was located closed. Such a medical center is not suited to maintaining ICUs.
So, the Trauma Centre has been asked to suspend its activities in line with the Medical Practice and Exclusive Clinic and Laboratories (Regulation) 1982.
Besides, it was asked to explain evidently within the neext seven days why the legal actions would not be studied against it.
It can be mentioned that various varieties of irregularities have already been going on in the country's wellbeing sector after the start of coronavirus pandemic. Two branches of Regent Hospital--one at Mirpur and the other at Uttara--and Shahabuddin Medical College or university Medical center at Gulshan have already been closed on expenses of irregularities.
