Financing Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today positioned Tk 568,000 crore national budget for 2020-21 fiscal with an ambitious target of 8.2 percent GDP growth amid the financial fallout as a result of coronavirus pandemic.

The minister started placing the budget at the parliament around 3:00 pm with the permission of Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. Leader of the House Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina and several lawmakers joined the program.

While delivering his budget speech, Kamal said how big is the total cover 2020-21 fiscal season has been estimated at Tk 5,68,000 crore, which is 17.9 percent of country's GDP.

Dubbing the budget since "economic transition and pathway to advance", the finance minister stated the total allocation for functioning and other expenditures has been projected by Tk 3,62,855 crore and the allocation pertaining to the gross annual development programme (ADP) features been estimated by Tk 2,05,145 crore.

Health, agriculture and career creation have already been given concern while allocating means for the ADP, he explained.

Talking about the budget deficit, Kamal explained the entire budget deficit will be Tk 190,000 crore, which is 6 percent of GDP.

"It is to end up being noted that deficit stood at 5 percent within the last fiscal time. Out of your total deficit, Tk 80,017 crore will end up being financed from external resources, while Tk 1,09,983 crore from domestic sources of which Tk 84,983 crore will come from the banking sector and Tk. 25,000 crore from cost savings certificates and other non-bank sources," the finance minister said in his speech.

The earnings collection target for the coming fiscal year has been set Tk 378,000 crore. Of the amount, the NBR possesses been tasked to realise a income collection concentrate on of Tk 330,000 crore, the non-NBR income collection aim for is Tk 15,000 crore as the non-tax revenue collection goal is Tk 33,000 crore. Besides, Taka 4,013 crore should come from foreign grants.

Addressing the existing crisis above the coronavirus pandemic, Kamal, in his speech, explained, "…it is period to steer the nation ahead, with persons by our part, and efficiently tackling the crisis due to the deadly strike of coronavirus through each of our pragmatic and efficient projects."

Today, Kamal located his second budget as the country's 12th financing minister. He read aloud some parts of the spending plan while remaining parts were displayed in multimedia display during his spending plan speech.
