Thunderbolt kills 3
Three people were killed by lightning strikes in Kaliganj and Sadar upaizlas of Gazipur early Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Tajul Islam, 50, Mamun Sheikh, 30, from Pinshoi area in Kaliganj, and Rathindranath, 42, from Nasaron area in Sadar upazila.
In Kaliganj, Tajul and Mamun went to catch fish in Belai beel on Monday night. They fell into water from a boat after being hit by thunderclaps at dawn.
On information, families and local people recovered the bodies from the water body.
In Sadar upazila, Rathindranath also died by lightning strikes while fishing in a waterbody in Nasaron area at the same time.
Police confirmed both t he incidents.
