Tariq Kazi out with injury
The Finland-born Bangladeshi footballer Tariq Raihan Kazi, who got his maiden call-up for Bangladesh in the 33-member national team for the Nepal friendlies, has been eliminated due to a personal injury.
The 20-year defender sustained an injury in the groin region through the work out on Thursday at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital. Tarik will go back to his club Bashundhara Kings for recovery.
“Unfortunately, I’m heading back to my club Bashundhara Kings because of my groin injury. There exists a tear in the groin and groin area. I would like to thank all of the coaches and players at the national team for making me feel so welcome. Everything spent some time working out brilliantly at the camp. Now my dreams are postponed but see you soon,” Tarik told the reporters on Friday.
Bangladesh got another blow while their veteran midfielder Mamunul Islam Mamun was also sidelined as a result of injury.
After an extended break, the national team will go back to the field with two FIFA tier-1 international friendlies between Bangladesh and Nepal, scheduled to be held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here on November 13 and 17 respectively.
Prior to the matches, BFF announced a preliminary squad of 36-member. But Kings’ two players namely Md Matin Miah and Masuk Mia Jony and Dhaka Abahani’s Tutul Hossain Badsha hadn't joined the camp. Matin and Jony recently recovered from injury, therefore the club refused to release them because of injury scare. However, Badsha hadn't joined the camp due to his wife's sickness.
