Sreepur fire: Death toll rises to 4
Death toll from a fire incident at a spinning mill in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur rose to four with the recovery of three charred bodies early Wednesday.
Three bodies were recovered around 4am, Fire Service and Civil Defence deputy assistant director Aktaruzzaman confirmed.
Two of the deceased were identified as Anwar, 27, son of Jaynal Abedin, resident of Dhanua village of the upazila, and Shahjalal, 26, son of Hasen Ali, of the same upazila.
One worker is still missing in the massive fire.
Earlier on Tuesday, security guard Russel, 32, was burnt to death in the huge fire broke out at Otto Spinning Ltd in Faridpur area around 2.30pm.
Eighteen firefighting units extinguished the blaze after 12 hours of frantic effort.
A three-member probe committee was formed to find out the reason behind the fire.
