SM Entertainment's First Virtual Artiste Naevis Makes Official Debut

SM Entertainment's first virtual artiste Naevis officially made her debut on Tuesday (Sep 10) with her single Done. The music video shows Naevis travelling between the digital space and the real world as she switches between forms, which include a cutesy toon-like style and a hyperrealistic version.

SM Entertainment's first virtual artiste, Naevis, debuted on Sep 10 with her single "Done." Known from Aespa's lore, Naevis features in music videos, webtoons, games, and merchandise. She'll collaborate with LG U+ on AI content and tech innovation.

Despite her recent debut, Naevis isn't exactly an unfamiliar face. Fans of K-pop girl group Aespa will know Naevis as a major player in the group's fictional lore, acting as an assistant in Aespa's fight against the villainous Black Mamba.

She even made a surprise appearance at the Seoul leg of Aespa's recent world tour where she staged a solo performance. In a press statement, SM Entertainment revealed that Naevis

will also be featured in webtoons, games, merchandise and brand collaborations. The company recently announced a partnership with telecommunication company LG U+ for AI content development.

SM Entertainment co-CEO Dmitry YJ Tak said of the collaboration: “LG U+'s commitment to providing customers with new AI experiences aligns with SM's goal of delivering new K-pop experiences to fans through Naevis.

“The collaboration between LG U+’s generative AI ixi-GEN and SM's virtual artiste naevis is not just a business partnership but an important milestone in realising future-oriented content and technological innovation born out of the creative synergy between the two companies.”
