Sheikh Russel ease earlier Brothers Union in BPL 2-1
Country's top tier outfit Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra got off to a winning begin in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier Group (BPL) 2020-21 beating Brothers Union Limited by 2-1 goals within their first match in the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) Friday night.

Forward Md Abdullah and Brazilian ahead Giancarlo Lopes scored a single each for Sheikh Russel while Congolese ahead cum captain Siyo Zunapio netted 1 for Brothers Union.

With the day's win, Sheikh Russel, which done third in BPL 2018-19, opened account earning 3 tips in the idea table of the ongoing league.
At BNS, Sheikh Russel took lead while forward Abdullah scored from a free of charge kick in the 13th minute (1-0).  Sheikh Russel had been awarded with the free-kick as Brothers goalkeeper Mohiuddin Ranu did a foul gripping the ball outside the box.  

Just after 3 minutes, Brazilian onward Lopes doubled the margin even though Brothers goalkeeper Ranu kept his post blank to sharp an extended throw-in from Russel's Kyrgyzs midfielder Baktyir Duishobekov in the 16th minute (2-0).

In the 32nd minute, Brothers Congolese forward cum captain Zunapio lowered the gap converting a penalty shot appropriately (2-1). Brothers Union were rewarded with a penalty as Sheikh Russel midfielder Didarul Haque dedicated a handball inside the box.
