Shahiduzzaman Sarker MP of AL infected with coronavirus
Shahiduzzaman Sarker, an Awami League MP from Naogaon-2 constituency, encompassing Dhamoirhat and Patnitala upazilas, in Naogaon district, has been tested coronavirus positive.
Jatiya Sangsad speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury confimed on Friday night that Shahiduzzaman Sarker, MP contracted the coronavirus infection. "We've learnt that he has been infected with coronavirus," she said.
Md. Atiur Rahman Atik, ruling Awami League's Whip of Parliament from Sherpur-1 constituency, confirmed it on Friday. He said Shahiduzzman Sarker tested coronavirus positive after his blood samples were sent for examination.
The 65-year-old Shahiduzzaman Sarker is currently staying at his apartment at NAM Building located at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. He's also a diabetic.
Former whip Shahiduzzaman Sarker is the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
