Selena Gomez and Emily Blunt avoid viral lip-reading comments at the AFI Awards
Selena Gomez was caught at the Golden Globes awards show having a gossip session with her friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry.

After being targeted by online lip readers during last week's Golden Globes, Gomez and Emily Blunt saved face and covered their mouths when they ran into each other during the AFI Awards in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Selena Gomez avoided what she went through again with Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry

The two friends were caught inside the Four Seasons Hotel as they stared at the camera with their hands in front of their mouths.

"We won't talk hahaha," the "Only Murders in the Building" star wrote on her Instagram story after the event.

Blunt, who played Katherine Oppenheimer in the World War II drama, faced divorce rumors as online sleuths debated what was said between the actress and husband John Krasinski. "I've watched this 500 times trying to convince myself he said something other than divorce," wrote one TikTok user after watching a video of the couple on the red carpet last Sunday. While social media users speculated that the two were having marital problems at the Golden Globes, a person close to the couple confirmed that the topic of divorce was not discussed.

"There are no issues with Emily and John," a source told Us Weekly on Thursday. "They are not talking about divorce at all. They think the rumors are funny and ridiculous."

Gomez, who stars alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short in the HULU comedy series, was caught inside the awards show at a gossip session with pals Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry.

The three were captured close together as they whispered wide-eyed from their seats in the star-studded interior of the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Lip-reading expert Jeremy Freeman exclusively told Page Six that the actress had been denied a photo with someone.

"He didn't want a picture with me. He said no," Gomez said, according to Freeman's analysis.

Fans believed Gomez was talking about Timothée Chalamet, and some alluded that it was Kylie Jenner who prevented her boyfriend from posing with the actress for a photo.

The "Wizards of Waverly Place" alum has since clarified what she told Swift and Sperry, saying she was talking about two of her friends who had gotten together.
