RU to confer D Litt on Hazan Azizul Huq, Selina Hossain
Rajshahi University (RU) will award honorary D Litt (Doctor of Letters) to eminent litterateurs Hasan Azizul Huq and Selina Hossain at 10th convocation of the university scheduled on September 29.
President Md Abdul Hamid, Chancellor of RU, is expected to hand over them the awards.
RU Public Relations Section Administrator Prof Pravash Kumar Karmaker confirmed the matter to Banglanews, on Tuesday (Sept 25) night.
Hasan Azizul Huq and Selina Hossain are being honored with the degrees as per a decision taken at the 464th syndicate meeting in 2016, he said.
However, Hasan Azizul Huq and Selina Hossain both are alumnus of RU.
Hasan Azizul Huq post-graduated from Philosophy Department in 1960. He became a teacher in 1973, at the same department. He was awarded with Ekushey Padak in 1999.
Selina Hossain received her Master’s degree from Bangla Departemnt in 1968.
RU is honoring the two celebrated writers for their distinctive contribution to Bangla literature.
