RU former students celebrating convocation with old friends
The 10th convocation of Rajshahi University (RU) is being celebrated on the campus today (Saturday).

Registered graduates have already reached the campus to participate in the convocation. All students are celebrating the day with old friend wearing tie, gown and hat.

Everyone is getting emotional in the presence of old friends. They are recalling the old campus days sitting together again with friends. The former students make the atmosphere festive throughout the campus.

Graduates are busy capturing pictures on the campus, at the stadium, Paris Road, Shahid Minar, Sabash Bangladesh sculpture, at all departments, in front of all residential halls. Sometimes they take photos together and sometimes alone. 
 
After a few years, they are roaming on the campus with the utmost compassion. Many people came again to see his hall room where he stayed a few years ago. 

Lakhmina Jasmin Soma, a 2009-10 academic year student of Mass Communication and Journalism, said, “We are very happy to see that the President coming to this convocation.”

Arnica Akhtar graduated from anthropology department. Asked about the feeling of coming to the convocation, she said, “It was the great opportunity to come to the campus after many days. After a long time friends are chatting together. I feel like I have returned to the campus life again.”

According to the university sources, a total of six thousand 14 graduates have registered for post-graduate, MPhil, PhD, MBBS, BDS degree certificates.

The university chancellor and the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh M. Abdul Hamid will preside over the convocation. 

Former Vice-Chancellor of University of Chittagong and Ekushey Padak Winner Professor Alamgir Mohammad Sirajuddin will be present as the convocation speaker. 
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will be present as special guest.

Cultural program will be organized at the university stadium at 5 pm after the departure of the President. The country's popular singer Sabina Yasmin will perform songs there.
