RMG workers stage demo demanding arrears
Workers of a garments factory on Wednesday staged demonstration in Shreepur upazila of Gazipur demanding their arrear salaries and allowances.
Cassiopea Dress Limited’s workers staged the demonstration in front of their factory for the second consecutive days.
“We are demanding to get at least half of our salaries as there is no hope for getting bonus,” said Nilufa Akther, Swing Operator of the factory.
Another worker Mahfuza said authorities informed them about the cut of bonus this time.
Assistant Human Resource official Ripon Halder said at present, the factory is facing some problems including of financial, and next steps will be taken as per the direction by the owner.
Azaharul Islam, sub-inspector of Shreepur police station, said situation is normal now.
