Rice market to be normal in per month: Tipu

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Sunday said rice market would become normal within a month.

Regarding the upsurge in oil prices, the minister said, "In the event the price tag on oil does not come down in the international markets, its selling price in Bangladesh will not come down."
"We import 90 % of our expected edible oil. We want to supply oil at a lower value through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh," he explained, adding that measures have been taken up to double foodstuff imports before the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan.
