Renowned haematologist Prof Moniruzzaman dies of COVID-19
Eminent haematologist and laboratory medicine specialist Professor Col (Retd) Md Moniruzzaman has died of deadly coronavirus.
He breathed his last at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) around 5:30pm on Sunday, Dr Nirupoma Das, chief of Bangladesh Doctors' Foundation, confirmed.
Moniruzzaman had been experiencing fever and chest pain for last few days. He was taken up to the hospital in the afternoon following deterioration of his condition, the family said.
His sample was collected where he was found positive for the virus infection.
Dr Moniruzzaman was the principle haematologist at Anwer Khan Modern Medical College in the capital. He was the second doctor who died of COVID-10 in the united states.
