Rajshahi release Mushfiqur
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rajshahi Kings released Mushfiqur Rahim for the upcoming edition of the tournament while retaining Mominul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Zakir Hossain yesterday.
Defending champions Rangpur Riders retained West Indies' Chris Gayle and released Kiwi Brendon McCullum. They also let go of pacer Rubel Hossain but skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Nazmul Islam and Mohammad Mithun remain.
Comilla Victorians retained Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes and Shoaib Malik while Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad were retained by Dhaka Dynamites and Khulna Titans respectively.
It was learned that Mustafizur and Liton Das are expected to replace Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar as icons for the upcoming season.
The sixth edition of the BPL is set to begin on January 5.
