Protesting students call off movement till Mar 28
Agitating students called off their movement till March 28 following meeting with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Wednesday evening.
Touhiduzzaman, a student of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), told journalists “We held a long meeting with the mayor. He assured us of fulfilling our demands gradually.”
Mayor assured of maximum punishment for the accused involved in road accident, he added.
“A plan for the road safety will be placed by mayor within seven days and will be implemented by a month. Idea of student council was also discussed. For this reason we have postponed our movement till March 28,” said Touhiduzzaman.
