Protest on BSMRSTU campus over sexual assault of 2 students
Students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) on Sunday staged demonstration demanding punishment to a teacher accused of sexually assaulting two female students.
The varsity authorities have been apprised of the incident verbally.
They also relieved the teacher of different duties. But, none want to talk to reporters in this regard.
The accused teacher, however, alleged that he was a 'victim of teachers' politics'.
In December last year, two female students of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) dept brought allegation against department head Engineer M Akkas Ali of sexual harassment.
Both the victims submitted written complaints to the authorities.
But, they took a long time in the name of investigation, the victims alleged.
Recently, the matter went viral on social media and became talk of the town.
Students on Sunday brought out protest procession on the campus and threatened to continue their movement until the accused teacher is punished.
