Praava Health raises $10.6m
Praava Wellness, which made a foray into Bangladesh's healthcare business with a brick-and-click model, yesterday announced that it raised funds of $10.6 million with an try to expand footprint in the administrative centre and beyond to Chattogram.
The fund came in a sort of a "Series A Prime" round, which identifies an initial round of financing undertaken for a fresh business venture after seed capital.
The doctor is said to have so far served 150,000 patients with a flagship centre in Banani and 40 collection points across Dhaka.
It also seeks to use the funds to build an iphone app integrating all its digital offerings on offer since its 2018 launching.
"We grew three times annually because the launch…We believe there is a huge chance and the global pandemic highlighted the wants of more investment found in healthcare," stated founder Sylvana Quader Sinha.
Within an interview with The Daily Star, Sinha, who was simply born to a Bangladeshi parent in the US, spoke of an incident that almost resulted in her mother's death.
"No sum of money allows you to gain access to world-class health service. That is why I transferred to Bangladesh to expose top notch patient experience…I realised you will find a need for quality healthcare in Bangladesh," she stated.
