PM to distribute Ekushey Padak Thursday
Primary Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday can give Ekushey Padak-2020 to the awardees.
Some 20 eminent personalities and an organisation have already been nominated for the country's second-highest civilian award for the entire year 2020 in recognition of their contributions to various fields.
Cultural Affairs Ministry is definitely organising the award offering ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium.
Previously February 5, the Cultural Affairs Ministry announced the brands of the recipients.
Each recipient will get a gold medal, a certificate and a cheque for Tk 2 lakh.
The award recipients are: Aminul Islam Badsha (posthumous Words Movement), Begum Dalia Nowshin, Shankar Roy and Mita Haque (music), Golam Mostafa Khan (dance), SM Mohsin (performing arts), Prof Dr Farida Zaman (fine arts).
Hazi Akhter Sarder (posthumous), Abdul Jabbar (posthumous) and Dr AAM Mesbahul Haque (posthumous) have been nominated for their functions in the Liberation Battle.
ournalist Zafar Wazed (Ali Wazed Zafar) for journalism and Dr Jahangir Alam, Hafez Qwari Syed Saifur Rahman Nizami Shah and Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (research), Dr Bikiran Prasad Barua (education), Prof Dr Shamsul Alam (economy), Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman (social service), Dr Nurun Nabi, Sikder Aminul Haque (posthumous) and Begum Nazmun Nesa Piari (language and literature) and Prof Dr Sayeba Akhter (medical).
