PM Hasina asks party leaders to project govt success before people
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said her government never takes under consideration who voted for Awami League or who didn't while conducting development works.
"In the democratic process, anyone gets the right never to cast vote for Awami League. But, the government has generated equal scope for all. It never considers who voted for AL or who didn’t," she said, reports UNB.
Sheikh Hasina, also AL president, was addressing the party nomination seekers for the election to Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and by-polls to five parliamentary seats at her official residence Ganobhaban after a joint meeting of the AL Parliamentary Board (ALPB) and AL Local Government Nomination Board.
The prime minister urged her party leaders and activists to work for people imbued with the ideology of father of the country Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and staying above all personal aspirations and gains.
She said their party is in power for more than one decade and for that reason, the country’s development is currently visible. "That is an excellent achievement for a government as people of the united states keep their trust and faith in it for so very long," she said.
She asked the party leaders and activists to ensure that the confidence and trust remain intact. "There’s nothing bigger for a political leader than to realize people's trust and confidence," she said.
Sheikh Hasina told the party leaders and activists to project the success stories of the federal government before people.
She said no government in the past did such development what the AL government did within the last 10 years.
Sheikh Hasina said the federal government is developing the united states in a well planned way in order that farmers, students and working people could easily get its benefit. "Consequently, the united states has already stepped in to the arena of developing countries," she said.
She also put focus on keeping the development pace in the coming days.
Talking about militancy, terrorism and drugs, the prime minister said the on-going drive against these social menaces will continue.
She said if AL leaders and activists can portrait the government’s success before people, you won't be considered a problem to get vote from their website in any election.
Sheikh Hasina urged people to cast their vote in favour of AL applicants in the coming election to Chittagong City Corporation and by-elections to some parliamentary seats, saying casting votes limited to ‘Boat’ symbol will ensure people’s development.
She urged all to increase their cooperation to determine a hunger-and-poverty-free, calm and developed Bangladesh as dreamed by father of the country Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
