Pfizer jab 'can get kept in fridge for a month'
The European Union's drugs regulator has said the Pfizer Covid vaccine is now able to be placed at fridge temperature for a lot longer than it previously recommended.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said that once the vaccines thawed, unopened vials could possibly be kept in the fridge for a month.

The current limit is merely five days.

The increased versatility is likely to have a significant effect on the vaccine roll-out across the EU.

The necessity for transport and storage at surprisingly low temperatures has been among the important disadvantages of the Pfizer jab.

The previous storage requirements for Pfizer vaccines have built them harder to use in some elements of the world.

In February, America approved storage and transport of the Pfizer vaccine at standard freezer temperatures of -15 to -25C for two weeks, as opposed to between -80 to -60C that it usually requires.

Before this month Canada authorized the application of the Pfizer vaccine for children between the ages of 12 and 15, becoming the initial country to take action for that generation.
