BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday alleged that the federal government was occupied with politicising the novel coronavirus, corruption and loot whereas thousands of people in the united states were facing hazards of their lives.
Addressing a digital press conference right from the party's central business office in the city's Naya Paltan, the BNP leader alleged that the people were on grave challenges of their lives as a result of government's wrong, suicidal and uncoordinated decisions in tackling the COVID-19 crisis.
He said that BNP stood by the poor and hungry persons while footsteps of famine could be heard. Rizvi alleged that ruling Awami League activists had been attacking and obstructing BNP's relief distribution at locations of the country.
Alleging that BNP leaders and activists were also facing conditions and arrests, he stated that the attacks and harassments had been dragging the united states towards further crisis.
"The problem indicates that the federal government is not active with rescuing the people from the COVID-19 crisis, somewhat they are busy with looting and protecting their vitality," he said.
