Pekua UNO's transfer order stayed just after one day
Transfer order of Cox's Bazar's Pekua upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Saika Shahadat was stayed by Chattogram Divisional Commissioner in a letter on Friday less than 24 hours after her transfer.

Chattogram Divisional Commissioner has suspended the transfer order of Cox's Bazar's Pekua upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Saika Shahadat though an individual day hasn't passed since the order.

Cox's Bazar deputy commissioner Md Kamal Hossain was confirmed about the problem after he received a letter signed by Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Shankar Ranjan Saha.

Previously Thursday, UNO Pekua Saika Shahadat was withdrawn for her alleged involvement within an incident of embezzling 15 a great deal of government rice.

In an order issued on Thursday, UNO Saika Shahadat was withdrawn and attached to the Chittagong Divisional Commissioner office.

The order, signed by Sankar Ranjan Saha, Chattogram divisional commissioner asked Saika Shahadat to become listed on her new working place by May 3 next. 

Besides, Cumilla's Brahmanpara UNO Nazma Siddika Akter was transferred and asked to become listed on Pekua as UNO.

Allegations of involvement in scandal of embezzling 15 tonnes of rice were brought against former Pekua UNO Saika Shahadat.

A case was filed against Tetong Union Parishad chairman and union Awami League general secretary Zahedul Islam Chowdhury beneath the Special Powers Act regarding the the incident. Later, the Ministry of Local Government suspended Zahedul Islam Chowdhury.

But, the locals have grown to be vocal in social media including the Facebook over the UNO Saika Shahadat's involvement in embezzling rice over the last several days.
