Passing 4 decades together in acting
Masum Basher and Mili Basher are two popular faces of the small screen of present time. Last few years they got appreciation from the viewers playing the roles of father and mother on the screen.
For this reason, they have to pass busy times with acting. In real life, they are happy couple. Nabila Basher and Naziba Basher are their two daughters. Their younger daughter Naziba is also attached with acting.
Both Masum and Mili started their acting career through theatre group, Dhaka Theatre. At the end of 1974, Masum started acting in Nasir Uddin Yousuff-directed play Muntasir Fantasy.
On the other hand, Mili started acting under same director's play Shakuntala in 1979. Their tied the nuptial knot on July 30 in 1982. They passed several years outside the country. After returning country they again became busy with acting. In TV, Masum first acted under Badrunnesa Abdullah's direction while Mili first acted under late Atiqul Haque Chowdhury's direction. But they first worked together in Matia Banu Shuku's play Agoon Alpona.
Later they worked together in Channel i's ongoing serial Priyo Din Priyo Raat, Ezaz Munna's new serial Shohor Ali, among other directors' works. They also acted together in Mostafa Kamal Raz's movie Jodi Ekdin, Saidul Anam Tutul's Kalbela and Tanveer Mokammel's Rupsha Nodir Bakey. They also performed together as models in two TVCs but they feel comfortable in acting.
Masum Basher said, "I always enjoy acting. If I acting I remain well. There are some directors who do not give payment after completing works. In this regard, we should start to give 'No Objection' from the Directors Guild, Producers Association and others. Then this problem can be solved." "My husband has a lot of contribution to work of mine in media. Everybody pray for us," said Mili Basher.
