Papiya, partner on fresh 15-moment remand
Two Dhaka courts on Wednesday placed expelled Jubo Mahila League standard secretary Shamima Nur Papiya and her hubby Mofizur Rahman Sumon on a 15-day fresh remand each in three conditions.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debobrato Biswas granted a five-time remand in a case filed with Airport Police Station while Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari granted 10 times' remand in two instances filed with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Law enforcement Staton.
On February 24, Papiya and her partner were put on a 15-time remand in the three situations related to unlawful arms, medicines and counterfeit notes.
Rules enforcers on Wednesday produced the few prior to the courts on completion of their remand period and sought 30 times' fresh remand.
On February 22, Fast Action Battalion (RAB) people arrested them from Hazrat Shahjalal AIRPORT TERMINAL.
The elite force also recovered counterfeit notes, foreign currencies, and around Tk 2.5 lakh from their possessions.
The RAB men also raided Papiya's Indira Street flat and recovered a foreign pistol, two magazines, 20 bullets, five bottles foreign liquor, Tk 58.41 lakh in dollars, five passports, three cheques, some foreign currency and 10 ATM cards of different banks.
