Oxford pauses dosing found in trial of AstraZeneca vaccine in children, teenagers
The University of Oxford has paused administering doses of the COVID-19 vaccine it designed with AstraZeneca PLC in a tiny U.K. analysis to check the shot in kids and teenagers, pending even more information regarding rare blood-clotting problems in adults who have received it, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
An Oxford spokesman told the Journal that no security issues have arisen in the trial itself, but broader concerns about rare clotting problems in individuals have triggered further regulatory critiques in the U.K. and Europe to research any potential website link with the vaccine.
