Online platforms to release Eid programs
Online streaming platforms are providing more budget which help directors produce quality content. Many young directors are leaning towards streaming platforms as they find it easier to release programs online unlike TV channels which often follow lengthy and controversial program selection procedures. Besides, streaming platforms are providing directors with more budget than TV channels.
Due to the rise in popularity of live streaming platforms, many talented young directors are looking forward to release Eid special dramas online in lieu of private TV channels on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
'The young makers have new ideas and innovative ways of thinking which the open online platforms let them explore unlike TV channels. So, day by day more young makers are becoming interested in producing content for online platforms.' explained Mabrur Rashid Bannah who will be releasing twelve online dramas for this Eid. YouTube-based Dhruba TV will release seven teleplays this Eid.
The teleplays include Mabrur Rashid Bannah directed 'Anguley Anguley', Rafat Mozumder Rinku directed 'Taan', Kajal Arefin Omi directed 'The End' and 'The Tailor', Imraul Rafat directed 'Prothom Premi Shesh Prem Noy', Shihab Saheen directed 'Baunduley' and Fazlul Salim directed 'Good Boy'.
'The young makers are leaning towards online platforms for releasing their productions due to various reasons. They can work freely as well as show their creativity in a platform which also caters to a global audience,' Dhruba Guha, founder of Dhruba TV said.
Online streaming platform Hoichoi is going to release a new original web series titled 'Money Honey', which is based on a true story, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The web series contains twelve episodes which have been jointly directed by Tanim Noor and Krishnendu Chattopadhyay. The story of the web series revolves around a 32-year-old divorcee, Shahriar Kabir, who works in Dhaka Stock Exchange. Besides, some popular online streaming platforms such as Bioscope, Bongo BD, Cine Spot and others will be releasing web series marking Eid Ul Fitr this year.
