'Chhoto Kaku' returns on Eid-ul-Fitr
Actor-director Afzal Hossain and children's writer Faridur Reza Sagar have teamed up again to present another season of the 'Chhoto Kaku' series in the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. The tenth season of the series titled 'Joy Holo Joypurhat-e' will feature how the private detective, 'Chhoto Kaku', foils an attack by an armed group. The season stars Afzal Hossain, Orsha, Shimanta, Tanvir Hossain Probal and others.

Before 'Joy Holo Joypurhat-e', nine seasons of the series had been aired on the same private television channel. The first season, 'Cox's Bazar-e Kakatua', was aired during Eid-ul-Fitr in 2013 and the second season, 'Rag Kore Rangamati', was aired during Eid-ul-Azha the same year.

The third season, 'Rajshahir Rasogolla', and the fourth, 'Ratbirate Satkhirate', were aired during the two Eids in 2014 while the fifth season, 'Late Korey Sylhet-e', and the sixth season, 'Dinedupure Dinajpure', were aired during two Eid festivals in 2015 on the same channel. In the next three years, 'Kuakatay Katakati', 'Khela Holo Khulnay' and 'Kaku Jakhan Cumillay' were aired.

'I want to continue this series in every Eid festival as a gift to children as they do not have much sources of entertainment during the Eid festivals,' said Afzal Hossain, who adapted and directed the TV series from Sagar's stories.

Making a detective series in Bangladesh, said Afzal, is a challenging task in terms of production costs and required technical support. 'Yet, we are trying our level best to give authentic presentation of the fiction. That's why shootings for the TV series were done in the places where the stories took place,' Afzal said. The eight-episode detective series will be aired every day at 6:10pm during the eight-day Eid special programs on Channel-I.
