One killed, four injured found in London crane collapse
One individual was killed and four other folks injured on Wednesday just after a crane collapsed onto properties on east London, the London Ambulance Program said.

The 20-metre (65-feet) high crane fell on two properties and a creation of a block of flats in Bow.

Four people were initially found injured at the picture, said the ambulance services, two suffering from brain injuries who were taken up to hospital.

Subsequently another casualty was discovered.

"Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services, a good fifth person has been found and passed away at the scene. Our thoughts happen to be with their family as of this difficult period," said the ambulance assistance in a tweet.

It added that it had deployed a good "quantity of crews and consultant resources" to the website of the accident.

It isn't known yet what caused the crane to collapse.

The crane was functioning at a niche site being produced by a company referred to as Swan Casing Association which said it was "deeply saddened" by the incident.

The Unite union said there "must be an urgent, full and complete investigation in to the circumstances that led to this accident." - AFP
