NHTTI organises 8th Hygiene Carnival
National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI) of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) arranged a programme on food hygiene titled ‘Hygiene Carnival’ for the 8th time on March 30 at the NHTTI premise.

This carnival is the first of its kind in Bangladesh. This year, the theme for the carnival was ‘Serve Street Food Hygienically and Save Lives’.

Culinary consultant Jaheda Begum, Head of F&B Production, NHTTI led the carnival. Concerned trainers of NHTTI, tourism entrepreneurs, hoteliers, industrialists, chefs, hygiene specialists and media representatives were also present on the occasion.

To prevent food borne illness, this year emphasis was given on increasing awareness of hygiene in street food.

With this initiative, BPC authority introduced a short course titled ‘Food Hygiene and Sanitation’ primarily to train the NHTTI trainees and chefs on industry standard food and hygiene. The course concluded with the carnival session.
