‘Mugger’ killed, cops injured in encounter
MYMENSINGH: A suspected mugger was killed in a shootout with police in Mymensingh town early Thursday (January 25).
He was identified as Nayeem, 22.
Kotwali Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Mahbub and Detective Branch (DB) Constable Rashed were hurt in the shootout.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ashiqur Rahman told Banglanews that they conducted the drive at the night, to nab some muggers linked with a college student murder.
Sensing presence of them, the muggers hurled cocktail on the law enforcers near PBI office in the town, at around 4:00am.
In retaliation, police opened fire that left Nayeem dead on the spot.
