Momtaz delighted for getting National Award
Last week was a memorable week for folk legend of the country Momtaz Begum. This Parliament Member received two national recognitions. For the first time, she became the top taxpayer of the country in category of singer.

This information was disclosed on Wednesday. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal will distribute tax cards, crests and certificates among the top taxpayers at a city hotel today.

Therefore, Momtaz also got National Film Award 2017 as Best Singer recently. She got the award for second time for rendering a play-back song written by Sejul Hossain and composed by Bappa Mazumder which was used in Hasibur Reza Kollol-directed movie 'Sottwa'.

Momtaz is delighted in this regard. While sharing her feelings in this regard she said, "It was really a delightful matter for me to get the National Film Award. Before releasing the movie viewers liked the song. 

After getting release, popularity of the song increased. Now I get request to render the song in any show. It is really a liking matter for. I give thanks to lyricist Sejul Hossain and music composer Bappa Mazumder for getting the National Film Award.

It is also delightful matter for me to get the top taxpayer as singer. As a citizen, my responsibility has been increased now. I think every citizen should pay their taxes properly. Still now I am suffering for music to perform from Tetulia to Teknaf and I try to pay taxes properly as a citizen."

Momtaz also informed that last Tuesday in Pubail, Gazipur she worked in an awareness creating documentary against child marriage which was directed by Noman Robin. Earlier Momtaz got the National Film Award for rendering song in movie 'Nekabbor-er Mohaproyan'.
