Mokammel's 'Seemantorekha' participates in Indian virtual film fest
TanvirMokammel's documentary titled 'Seemantorekha' is normally participating along with a number of other films in the fourth session of FFSI Online Film Festival in India.

The festival, organised by Federation of Film Societies of India (Eastern Area), commenced on June 7. The fourth program of the function commenced on June 29 and will be wide open for all until July 6. It is offering three feature-duration and two short movies.

When contacted regarding 'Seemantorekha', TanvirMokammel, said, 'I made the film in the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Partition of Bengal. I needed to explore in the film the border which exists between your two Bengals.

Is it just a barbed fence between two sovereign states? Or could it be a type of division between the Hindus and the Muslims? Or could it be a line attracted to demarcate the behavioral variations between the persons of East and West Bengal? Or is there an unidentified borderline which is present deep inside our psyche that does not allow us both Bengals to be close with each other?'
