'Miss World Bangladesh' kicks off tomorrow
The beauty hunt event called 'Miss World Bangladesh' will be beginning on Sep 16, for the second time in a row, the host of the event Antar Showbiz said.
The winner will directly be sent to the final stage of Miss World competition, after the selection process ends in the last week of this month. Jessia Islam represented Bangladesh in the 'Miss World' contest last year.
She reached the top 40 in the final round of the global beauty competition.Earlier in 2001, Tabassum Ferdous Shaon represented Bangladesh in the 51st Miss World competition, which was held in Sun City of South Africa.
Bangladesh started the journey in Miss World competition in the year 1994. Anika Taher was the first person to represent Bangladesh in this world famous stage.
Subsequently, Yasmin Bilkis Sathi (1995), Rehnuma Dilruba Chitra (1996), Shaila Simi (1998), Tania Rahman Tonni (1999) and Sonia Gazi (2000) represented Bangladesh in Miss World. Manushi Chillar from Haryana, India won last year's title.
