'Miles' plans a series of concerts
Pioneer and legendary rock band Miles is all set to celebrate its 40th founding anniversary through world tour in different countries.
The band is going to perform concerts in the USA, Canada, Australia and Bangladesh as part of the celebration tour, said members of the band at a press conference organized at Tawfiq Aziz Khan Seminar Hall of Daily Star office on Monday.
Miles members Shafin Ahmed, Hamin Ahmed, Manam Ahmed, Syed Ziaur Rahman Turjo and Iqbal Asif were present at the press conference.
Miles frontman Shafin Ahmed said, 'Miles will perform at around 22 concerts in the United States, Canada and Australia. After the International Gig, the band will perform at road shows in four divisions in the country- Chattogram, Rajshahi, Shylet and Khulna.
The celebration program will end with a gala concert to be held at International Convention City Basundhara in the capital'. Sabbir Rahman, managing director of advertising and event management agency Windmill said, 'the celebration is called The Magic of Miles it includes 22 concerts and divisional road shows, our intention is to engage with all the Miles fans.'
'There will be fan engaging activities through the 6 month journey of celebration; we want to share extraordinary experiences which also include concerts, there will be Miles story zone, Ganer khata, hall of fame, tribute zone and many other activities.'
'At the Gala concert, Miles will share stage with other renowned music bands like Nagar Baul, Warfaze, Artcell, Maksood o'Dhaka', he added.
'We hope that rock lovers will be with us in the grand celebration of the 40th founding anniversary of Miles, the first rock band in the country,' said Hamin Ahmed.
