Mashrafe’s bracelet fetches Tk 42 lakh in auction
Bangladesh's former captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's bracelet, one which he has worn for practically 18 years, was sold for a whopping Tk 42 lakh during an auction organised by Auction 4 Action yesterday.
Mashrafe auctioned the bracelet to raise funds for people influenced by the Covid-19 outbreak. Bangladesh Leasing and BOAT LOAN COMPANIES Association (BLFCA) bid the best price of Tk 40 lakh for the bracelet that was set at a base price of Tk five lakh.
The chairman of BLFCA, who's also the CEO of IPDC Finance Limited -- Mominul Islam -- added Tk 2 lakh to the bid, so that it is Tk 42 lakh in total.
Mominul also announced that they would like to return the bracelet to Mashrafe as something special.
Earlier, Auction 4 Action organised a programme where they set up Shakib Al Hasan's bat for auction, and it had been later sold for Tk 20 lakh. Mushfiqur Rahim's bat was sold for Tk 17 lakh, and was bought by Pakistan superstar Shahid Afridi's charity -- Shahid Afridi Foundation.
Aside from them, Taskin Ahmed, Soumya Sarkar and Akbar Ali also set up their cricketing gears for auction to improve money for the same cause.
