Live image of the Samsung Galaxy S10 pops up, Infinity-O display seen
In just a few short weeks, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be introduced and in typical fashion, leaks about the handset have been spilling all over the interwebs. Prior to the latest leak, there had been a bunch of leaks showing CAD renders of the handset. Now, we get to see the first live image of the Galaxy S10 and with it the new Infinity-O display that features a hole for the front-facing camera.
As per a report by wccftech, the website has received an image that’s allegedly the Samsung Galaxy S10. The report states that Samsung is readying to introduce a host of changes in its upcoming flagship and one such change will be a new Infinity-O display. The display is expected to feature a cut-out in the top right corner much like what’s seen on the new Galaxy A8s handset that has a cut-out on the top left corner.
The report states that with the new image that has leaked, there is a strong chance that it is the upcoming Galaxy S10 as it’s the only handset that’s been rumoured to sport this design. The device in question has thin bezels on the top and bottom and the front-facing camera is located in a cut-out in the top right corner. The handset was glimpsed on in a subway in South Korea and the person who shot the image claims that the black circle in the top right corner is indeed the camera cut-out. He uses this reasoning to insist that the handset in question is a Galaxy S10.
In a related report, there is a contradictory rumour claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will not feature any holes in the display. As per a report by Softpedia, “This new type of screen relies on holes that are made into the glass in order to allow front-facing parts to be embedded without the need for controversial designs like the notch. This is Samsung’s very own idea to avoid the use of a notch, and most of the information that made the rounds in the last few months or so indicated this is very likely the way the South Korean firm wants to go.”
As of now, with most reports suggesting that Samsung will indeed feature a camera cut-out, we are inclined to believe that the brand will incorporate this design. However, all this speculation is based on leaks and rumours and more will be known in just a few weeks time.
