Kangana signs up to play Indira Gandhi in a good political period drama
Kangana Ranaut has registered to play the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political drama. The yet-untitled film isn't a biopic. "Yes, we will work on the project and the script is usually in final stages. It isn't the biopic of Indira Gandhi, this is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that can help my generation to comprehend (the) socio-political landscape of current India," said Kangana, in a statement released by her office.

This venture will be co-produced by Kagana and will be based on a book, featuring Emergency and Operation Blue Star. Talking about the motion picture, Kangana added, "Various prominent actors will participate this film not to mention I am looking forward to playing the most iconic leader that people have got in the annals of Indian politics." Director Sai Kabir, who worked with Kangana before in 'Revolver Rani', will write the report and screenplay, and also direct the project. Kangana is capturing for 'DhaakaD' in Bhopal and Sai Kabir flew there to go over the venture.

According to sources the film's screenplay is geared up.  Interestingly, Kangana just lately wrapped the shoot of 'Thalaivi' that is a biopic on actress switched politician Jayalalithaa. Aside from this untitled political drama and actions entertainer 'Dhaakad', Kagana will also be seen essaying an air push pilot in 'Tejas'. Also, she just lately announced the next installment of the Manikarnika franchise, titled 'Manikarnika Returns: The Legend Of Didda'.
