Kaanta's shooting ends
The shooting for Tokon Thakoor directed government grant winning film titled 'Kaanta' has recently ended and the film is currently in the post-production phase.
The film, based on late writer Shahidul Zahir's short story, depicts the history of Liberation War along with some historical events that happened before and after the war. It will hit local cinemas in December this year.
The film revolves around three couples who died in the same house in Old Dhaka in the years 1964, 1971 and 1990. Kaanta has been shot at various places in the Old Dhaka including Narinda, Farashganj and Sutrapur and in districts like Munshiganj, Narsingdi and others.
'I selected a number of upcoming actors for playing various characters in the film, which is a periodical film. Directors do not want to make periodical films because the budget of such films is much higher than commercial films. I hope the film lovers across the country will find the film entertaining,' Tokon Thakoor told New Age.
'I am looking forward to releasing the film in cinemas across the country in December this year. We have already finished the shooting for the film.
Now the film is in the post-production phase,' he added. Kaanta will be the third film directed by Tokon Thakoor. His first full length feature film Blackout was released in 2006 and his second directorial venture short film Rajputtur, which was funded by cultural affairs ministry, was released in 2015.
