Journo Rozina Islam taken up to court
Prothom Alo senior reporter Rozina Islam was taken up to a Dhaka court on Tuesday morning.
She has been produced before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at 8am and has been kept in the custody of the courtroom, Rozina's husband Monirul Islam confirmed.
Shahbag Police Station inspector Arifur Rahman filed a good petition seeking five-moment remand for the journalist.
The Health Ministry’s deputy secretary Shibbir Ahmed Osmani lodged a case ( No-16) on Monday night against Rozina Islam under Official Secrets Work for allegedly capturing of the government documents at Secretariat
The senior journalist visited the ministry office in the Secretariat on Monday afternoon to execute her professional duties. The ministry officials detained her in an area at about 3pm for taking pictures of some official records without permission and seized her cellular phone.
Hours after detention, Rozina was paid to Shahbagh Police Station around 8:30 pm.
She fell ill while being confined at the Secretariat.
