Job seekers block Shahbagh intersection
Job seekers on Saturday blocked Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka demanding extension of age limit for the application of government jobs to 35 from 30.
Some students under the banner of 'Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Parishad' brought out a procession around 12:30pm and, later, sit-in in front of National Museum, blocking the vehicular movement on the road.
Golam Rabbani, general secretary of central Chhatra League, assured the agitating students that their demand will be placed to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Parishad convenor Sanjay Das said their peaceful movement will continue.
Additional police have been deployed in the area.
