Italy suspends Serie A good over coronavirus crisis
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte in Monday declared that the country's top-flight Serie A football league will be suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.
"There is no reason why matches and sporting events should continue and I am thinking about the football championship," Conte told a good press conference in Rome.
Italy's Olympic Committee (CONI) had recommended earlier Mon that sporting events in the country be suspended until April 3 to greatly help contain the contagion.
All Serie A soccer matches were getting played nowadays.
On Sunday sports minister Spadafora needed the suspension of Serie A while Italian Footballers' Association president Damiano Tommasi tweeted that "stopping football is the most readily useful thing for our region right now".
Sassuolo defeated Brescia 3-0 in Serie A later on Monday, a match that could have already been the last in the Italian league before April.
