Home Minister assures to consider our demands, says Nurul Islam
Top Hefazat-e-Islam leaders possess met with Residence Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal at his residence on Dhaka .

At the achieving, the Hefazat leaders demanded an end to the arrest and harassment of the organisation’s leaders and activists, launch of arrested leaders and reopening of madrasas.

Hefazat’s current committee member secretary and past secretary general Maulana Nurul Islam Jihadi advised this to reporters following the getting together with on Tuesday night. 

The leaders of the organisation went to the house minister's house around 9:20 pm and left 12 .00 midnight.

The home minister assured that our demands would be taken into account at the meeting, said Nurul Islam.

A nationwide crackdown is continuing in the wake of the Hefazat’s previous movements, said Nurul Islam, adding that they need the quick let go of arrested alem-ulemas and devoted Muslims across the country.

“Alem-ulema’s and religious people are spending their times amid unknown fear because they are struggling to perform prayers on the holy month of Ramadan.”

He said, “We've appealed to the house minister in today’s conference release a them from arrest, panic and harassment. Mass arrests are going on specifically in Chattogram’s Hathazari and Brahmanbaria. Consequently, common people happen to be fleeing their homes in panic. During the holy month of Ramadan, I have made a special demand to him to avoid the harassment of alem-ulemas and religious persons.”

The Home Minister assured that he'd look into the matter regarding both of these needs, added the Hefazat leader.
