Highest punishment sought for Shahed
The prosecution offers sought lifestyle term imprisonment for Regent Group chairman Shahed Karim alias Mohammad Shahed in arms case.

They completed presentation of arguments prior to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Imrul Kayesh on Wednesday.

Dhaka Metropolitan General public Prosecutor Abdullah Abu sought lifestyle term imprisonment for Shahed through the arguments. 

The court set September 20 for the next hearing of the case as the defence's arguments aren't ended. 
 
On Wednesday, Shahed Karim pleaded not guilty and demanded justice in the courtroom while giving self-defence statements.

RAB arrested Shahed on July 15 from under the Bailey Bridge found in the Komarpur border location of Debhata Upazila found in Satkhira, while he was fleeing to India.

They seized a pistol, three bullets and 2,330 Indian rupees, and he was then taken up to Dhaka by helicopter. The case was registered at Debhata Law enforcement Station.
