Govt to consider duty chop in onion import, says Finance Minister
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said Wednesday that the government will consider a proposal over duty chop on onion import to reduce sufferings of people.
"We don't wish people’s sufferings to improve. We don’t anticipate it. Neither the Prime Minister, nor me, or any one expect that,” he informed newsmen after a virtual meeting of cabinet committee on government pay for.
Earlier on your day Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi called the authorities concerned to lessen the 5.0 per cent duty on onion import until 2021.
